Homes for Our Troops (HFOT) builds homes all around the country for veterans who have sustained severe injuries such as partial or full paralysis, traumatic brain injuries, and multiple limb amputations. The organization aims to provide veterans with homes to rebuild their lives and focus on their families and recovery. After the house is built, HFOT continues to be involved with the lives of these veterans to give a helping hand through financial planning, warranty coverage, and educational resources about homeowning, to name just a few.
In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic raised many challenges for the organization concerning nationwide restrictions and slowed down construction. However, HFOT was able to build and deliver 25 homes to veterans nationwide. In addition, HFOT celebrated delivering its 300th home in 2020, a milestone the nonprofit is very proud of and excited about.
